But it’s been sitting in my office for months, waiting for me to finish it. Last week I finally ordered the handles and the 4 little brass ‘feet’. They arrived today and in an unusual fit of New Year Resolution & Finishitis, I finished the darn thing. Now it just needs the right button for a closure. But as I’m going to be learning how to make buttons (first lesson this Sunday!!), I’m going to wait and see if I can make one especially for this bag.

I showed it to Nimbus. As you can see, he’s very impressed.

Great color work. The leather handles turned out perfect.

This shows the round bottom, with 4 brass ‘feet’. Nimbus is not impressed. He thought it was made to carry him around and when I told him “No way!” he started pouting….

Meet Morty (short for Mortimer) the Monkey. Morty was born (made) this week using the Irish Ewe’s new line of patterns from Fuzzy Mitten. The brown is 1 full skein of Cashvero from Cascade with wool & casmere. His overalls are 1/2 skein Teseo hand dyed wool from Cascade.

We sell the patterns over at the Irish Ewe and will be selling kits with the eyes and glasses as well. Morty’s friends include a Tabby Kitty, a Tiger, a Pocket Mouse, a Pupster Puppy, Ted the Teddy Bear, and of course, the Little Lamb. All are about 8″ tall and come with clothing that you can switch between the gang.

Morty hangs the cowgirl ornament we got from our cattle drive in Wyoming. He needs his glasses to read the tags.

Now that he’s trimmed the tree, Morty goes into the kitchen to get a cup of something warm.

The little overalls have a lace pattern running up the sides. Little details make a nice touch!
