Murphy is checking out my first attempt at needlefelting a Jacob sheep. Apparently, needle felting takes some talent, which also apparently, I don’t have. So, in an attempt to erase that ugly image from your mind, here’s a pic of my Christmas Cactus, which, like me, is somewhat behind in the whole Christmas thing:

Interesting cactus: we have three, which we call the Thanksgiving Cactus, Christmas cactus, and Easter cactus, because of the times they bloom.
I’ve seen worse needle felting, by the way. Even done worse needle felting. Worse yet were my thumb and two fingers, which also got “felted” by the needles and hurt like hell for days. I decided I was not meant to do needle felting, for my hands’ sake, as well as because my Santa turned out to look like a troll.

I think that sheep is pretty cute for a first attempt. You gotta make at least 30 before you decide how easy it can be !!!! lol—how dare I say that, since I have never done felting.
Then again……I’ll put your next 29 attempts on my mantle, all lined up as cute as heck.
Remember – so many years ago when we went to that Valentine Tea at the Boos home. Remember how cute those sheep were on her shelves….with the little white picket fence in front of the whole display. I never forgot it, imagine that. I can see something like that in your dining room…so, get back to work and churn those sheep out.

Try needle felting something with a smooth finish instead of the locks and you may like the outcome better.
Or, again, reframe your thinking. Aren’t you somehow related to Picasso? I thought so. The lamb is fine.

This is a terrific jacob sheep! You just need to felt the locks about every loop and skip a little, then another loop, etc. I will bo posting a little jacob lamb that I just finished today in my etsy shop. Don’t give up! Your’s could be the mom to mine! Happy Felting!!
