Brandon & Wilden after a hard days work

This is the typical 7pm scene when Brandon sits down to watch TV after working all day.

Thank-you from Waynflete School in Portland MaineFrom Waynflete school

Last month a friend of mine who teaches at Waynflete School called me about Ireland. They are studying Ireland this year and she wanted to ask me some questions about it. I met Rikki at the Irish Ewe and gave her some books, posters, soaps, music to borrow.

We then arranged a visit with the Jacobs, to show the kids what sheep from Ireland look like. We took Ashcroft, our 2 year old Ram with the huge horns, and on the other side of the scale, Precious our tiny little 10 month old ewe lamb.  Each grade come out in the snow to meet the sheep, pet them and get little bits of fiber. We shared info about the sheep (like they don’t have any teeth up top, and they throw up after they eat & chew on it — cud– the kids LOVED that one!)  We talked about how sheep lived in Ireland and how they not only fed the Irish, they clothed them as well.

In the mail about a week later, we received several packages of ‘thank you’ cards from the kids. What a delight it was to go thru them!  We want to mount them somehow on a big board to take around the shows with us.  Meanwhile, I’ve scanned some & will share them with you. Here’s the first one.
